What is Eyebrow Transplant?
An eyebrow transplant typically uses the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) technique, where individual hair follicles are harvested from the donor area, often the scalp, and then transplanted to the eyebrow area. The hair follicles are carefully placed to follow the natural growth pattern of the eyebrows, creating a more natural look. The procedure is minimally invasive, and local anesthesia is used to ensure that the patient is comfortable during the process. Since the transplanted hair comes from the patient’s own body, the risk of rejection or allergic reaction is minimal. The results are permanent, and with proper care, the transplanted hair will continue to grow in the eyebrow area, just like the natural hair.
What To Expect After The Procedure
After an eyebrow transplant, patients can expect some swelling, redness, or tenderness in the eyebrow area for the first few days. There may also be some scabbing or crusting around the transplanted follicles, which is normal and part of the healing process. The transplanted hairs will likely shed within the first few weeks, but this is temporary and part of the natural cycle. New hair growth typically begins to appear within 3 to 6 months, and full results can be seen within 9 to 12 months. During this time, the transplanted hair will blend with the natural eyebrow hairs and will continue to grow, requiring periodic trimming. It’s important to follow the post-procedure care instructions, which may include avoiding makeup around the eyebrow area and refraining from strenuous activities for a few weeks to ensure proper healing. Regular follow-up visits may be necessary to monitor progress and address any concerns.
